Western Red Box

"eucalyptus polyanthemos"

About Western Red Box timber

White, grey and red box have been used for fence posts in Australia's pastoral industry for hundreds of years. Few people, are aware, however, of the structural and architectural qualities of this timber genus, particularly Red Box which has unique colour and figure variations, exclusive to the species. 100% of our Western Red Box has been saved from broad acre land clearing projects in western Queensland and consequently using it responsibly for building projects is environmentally acceptable.

We have considerable quantities of 'feature grade', 60mm, tongue and grooved, flooring which enjoys a percentage of light-coloured sections through the timber and provides a rich variation of soft and strong character. Wider floorboards are also available in this species.
