Wombiana Ski Lodge

About the property

Wombiana Ski Lodge designed by renowned architect Peter Muller was amongst the first twenty buildings erected at Thredbo. It is regarded as an excellent example of the ‘free organic style’ which emerged during the 1950s. An assessment of cultural significance was required prior to formulation and lodgment of a development application.

History & Tradition

Wombiana, a Thredbo heritage listed property, was built to a stunning design emulating a bow of a ship emerging from the embankment. One of the best positioned houses in the central village area of Thredbo, it has views of the mountains from the wrap around balcony, as well as the spacious lounge with vaulted ceiling and fireplace.
